*I wrote this a few months ago and never went back to it. I came across it today and finished it up so I decided to finally post it! It’s the first fic I’ve ever written and it was inspired by the song “The Fighter” by The Fray. Enjoy!*

The lover held her love, she begged him her not to go. The fighter wrapped his her glove. The fighter said, “I know, I know, I know. Just this one last time, I swear you’ll still be mine.” But he she can’t promise much. He She goes for one last touch, one last touch…”

The air in the small room was thick, filled with so many emotions: anger, remorse, agony, sadness, desperation, but also love. Both women in the room were experiencing these sentiments all at once and it was equally overwhelming and nearly unbearable.

You could not tell that the tall woman in the corner of the room was experiencing any sort of emotion, however. She was gathering and organizing her various deadly ammunition and seemed quite concentrated on the task. Even though her face was emotionless an inner war raged inside her mind and heart just as one was raging inside the other redheaded woman in the room. Her face was not as stoic, in fact it was not stoic at all. Her sorrow was written all over her face. The staggering flood of emotions was not something either of the women were used to. The redhead was especially taken aback because she couldn’t seem to conceal the pain like she normally would. Her ego and pride usually took control, but not this time; something changed within her and that something was falling in love.

She knew she couldn’t hold it together much longer and so she took a deep, yet difficult breath and closed the arduous gap between her and the taller woman.

The lover held her love…

“Alice, please. Please look at me”, was the plea that broke the deafening silence in the cramped room. She reached for Alice’s hand and Alice immediately stilled and eased her grip on her Smith & Wesson Revolver. She inhaled deeply and pressed her eyes shut before placing the weapon down to turn and face her lover. She took the fragile woman’s hand in her own as her other hand laid gently on the redhead’s hip. The other woman responded to the touch by leaning in closer and tightly gripping the collar of Alice’s black V-neck t-shirt.

She begged her not to go…

“Don’t…” the redhead began but her voice trailed off and she hung her head. She struggled to repress the onslaught of tears that were being forced back. She swallowed hard, cleared her throat, and took a step back to look at Alice.

“Claire..” the taller woman began but stopped when the redhead began to shake her head.

Claire pulled every ounce of strength left within her small tight body to speak the words that so desperately needed to be said. She looked into Alice’s electric eyes and began again.

“Don’t leave me. Don’t go. Please.. don’t do this. Please.”

And then every restraint within her voice and her body gave way.

“I love you!” She screamed as she threw a punch at her lover’s chest out of sheer desperation and a crushing array of emotions. “Please, Alice I need you. I can’t..” her voice began failing her but she was not quite finished. “I can’t go on without you.”

And with that, Claire hung her head in complete surrender to her love for Alice. She heaved heavily as the tears flowed down her soft cheeks and as her knees began to fail her, Alice took her into her arms.

The fighter said, “I know, I know, I know…”

“I know Claire. God, I know.” Alice achingly whispered into her ear. She took the back of Claire’s head into her hand and held it tightly against her chest, the other arm still supporting the weight of the redhead. All Claire could do was hold onto Alice by sheer willpower as she struggled to breathe.

Alice would have rather endured another helicopter crash than feel the agony of Claire’s breaking heart as well as her own. They stayed in that position for what seemed like hours to Claire. When she finally caught her breath and was able to cease her tears, Claire partly slipped out of the embrace but only enough to snake her arm around the back of Alice’s neck. Her fingers effortlessly intertwined among the brown locks of hair as they rested their foreheads together. The women took in each other with each and every breath and somehow their breathing became easier.

“Claire”, began the brunette as she took the redhead’s face into her strong yet gentle hands.

“I love you. You gave me hope when I didn’t have any left and because of you emotions still touch me. I didn’t become yet another puppet to the Umbrella Corporation because of you. Don’t you see that you have already saved my life? You gave me purpose and a reason besides pure vengeance and hate to stop Umbrella. I’m doing it because I love you and want to be with you. I want to start a life with you…” Alice’s voice began to break and tears began to form in her eyes.

Just this one last time, I swear you’ll still be mine…

“…but that can’t happen unless Umbrella is stopped once and for all. Just this one last time, Claire. Then I am all yours.” Alice breathed out as the tears fell from her crystal blues and she kissed the redhead gently on her forehead.

“That is what I’m afraid of though. That this will be the last time Alice” Claire sighed in a defeated manner. She wanted to believe every word that had just come out of Alice’s mouth and she did for the most part but she couldn’t allow herself to believe in the happy ending. She had lost too many people over the past few years and knew better than to do that to her heart.

But she can’t promise much…

Alice wrapped her arms securely around Claire and embraced her fully. She searched for the right words to say to bring even an ounce of comfort to Claire and herself but all that came to mind were promises she knew she couldn’t keep.

Claire began whimper as tears began to fall from her eyes again. Alice took the redhead’s face into her hands and wiped the moisture from her tender cheek.

“Claire, I can’t promise you that I won’t die; truth is I have no idea what is going to happen. But what I can promise you is that I will fight with every ounce of strength I have in my body. I refuse to give up no matter how badly I get hurt because I have something that Wesker doesn’t and will never have; I have you and your love. Those are the only two reasons I need to live.”

She goes for one last touch, one last touch…

Those words somehow brought comfort to both of them and the redhead took the taller woman’s face into her hands as she brought their lips together in a crushing and passionate kiss. For the rest of the night the lovers expressed their devotion to each other in a pure and passionate bliss, both of them temporarily forgetting what the next day had in store for them.

Aberfield/Clairice. = GingerNathy.

nopressureguys:

It sounds less girlified. Me and Alice came up with it. I LIKE IT. It has a ring to it, no?

I mean, we got the kick ass Ralice, so Claire should have something cool.

That. is fucking. Brilliant.

callierobbins:

i know this fiction is excruciatingly short. but i have a minor idea for a POSSIBLE chap 2, not making any promises!

Claire holds a journal while in Alaska, rated T for minor sexual content

risingdaw-n asked: "did you like resident evil retribuiton? what would you rate it?"

Well, it wasn’t my personal favourite, simply for the fact that the characters really felt… flat. Alice’s lines in particular were kinda like cardboard. Really forced. I was taken aback by that.

The action was great. The music is my favourite thing of the whole film, and Sienna Guillory was perfect for RE5 era Jill Valentine.

The story was a bit predictable, and more than a bit ridiculous. I mean, siding with Wesker? Really? Is that such a wise idea? Seriously?

And I felt that it was over way too soon. I know they’re not known for length, but come on. That was a short, fast, 90 minutes.

Even for me, who got to be on the set, it was a little underwhelming for the things I’d seen.

Out of 10… I’d give it… a 5.75.

Extinction is still my personal favourite, but in all honesty, I believe the first one really captured the essence of Resident Evil. Apocalypse is good too since it has the at night, in the city streets, filled with the undead.

And let’s just not talk about Afterlife.
